Skiing is good!

Last night was really the first ski at the RLNA trails for most people. 20+ skiing. it was very nice for early season snow. No tracks yet but there was both classical & skate skiers on the trail!

Holiday Parade ~ Dec. 1st

Greetings to all in the RLNA! This Thursday is the Holiday Parade. The RLNA is having a Float (Snowmobile & Groomer) along with many members & youth walking along. We encourage you to attend this and walk, Nordic Walk, roller ski or CAT ski with us! We will also be handing out Postcards with RLNA info to the parade watchers! The Float needs to arrive at 5:55pm in spot #7 The balance of the RLNA folks we would like for you to arrive between 6 & 6:15 with the parade starting at 6:30. Dress for the weather. Afterwards we will be having cookies & something warm to drink at Burnell’s Décor/Out There (502 North Main) At the end of the parade. We will be in the parking lot warehouse door #1. Any kids that are along without parents can be found at that location. We look forward to this event and hope you can join us! Rice Lake Area Men’s Club donates to Youth Program

A little over a week ago the Rice Lake Area Men’s Club approached the RLNA Youth Director about speaking to them in regards to the Youth Program and possible funds that it could use. Kris Hanson the Youth Director & Head Coach then put a list of additional items that the program could use and an outline together. Bjorn was then asked to go and speak the the RLAMC. Information was presented and today we recieved a $500 check from the Club to go towards the Youth Program’s needs. A really big THANKS to those people involved!

Youth Ski rental for the 2011-2012 Season

The RLNA Youth program has purchased equipment for the 2011-2012 season for rent. It is limited but we have a number of pair of Classic as well as Skate skis, with bindings (NNN) and poles. Each person will be responsible for their own boots (NNN system) This equipment will be available on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis. There willbe a $30 rental fee for the season. The fitting will be held at Out There Nordic Sports in Rice Lake on Tuesday Nov. 22nd from 6-7:30pm For any additional information please contact the Youth Coach/Director Kris Hanson @ 715.234.4505

RLNA Youth Awarded Youth Skier Development Grant!

In the NEWS~ Today the RLNA was awarded a Youth Skier Development Grant from the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation for the 2nd year in a row. Thses monies will go to help grow the 2 year old Youth program which grew 23 participants last season to nearly 40 already this season!

Grooming Shed near completion

Youth Program~ Grows by leaps & bounds!

Well with the RLNA Youth Program in it’s 2nd season, Dry land traing is in it’s 4th week. Last year we had and average of 4 kids for dryland and this year averaging 16! So far we have had 28 enrolled and last year at the max it was 23! Lets keep the momentum.
